All classes are held at the Companion Dog Club training building at 10803 No. 72nd Street in Omaha, NE.
Unless otherwise specified, all classes meet once a week for one hour. Registrations are all in pdf format and require Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Pet I - Obedience Class
Instruction will be given in:
- Controlled walking
- Sit, down, come
- Use of food rewards
- Interacting and playing with dogs in a motivational manner
Prerequisites:
- Dogs must be at least 6 months old and in good physical condition.
- Dogs may not be aggressive towards people or towards other dogs. Dogs that are aggressive will have to be evaluated by the instructor to determine if it can be handled in a class situation.
Students should bring to class: soft food, chew toy, play toy, and regular fabric or leather leash (flex leads will not be allowed). Students should wear athletic shoes. Successful completion: Dog must on command: sit, come, down. There must be a connection between dog and handler. Next logical classes: - Pet Obedience II

Pet II - Obedience Class - Canine Good Citizen®
Instruction will be given in preparation for exercises in the Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) test.
CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs that have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs that pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.
- Accepting a friendly stranger
- Sitting politely for petting
- Welcome being groomed and examined
- Walking on a loose lead
- Walking among people
- Sit and down on command and Staying in place
- Coming when called
- Reaction to another dog
- Reaction to distraction
- Supervised separation
The final class period will include the actual CGC test by a certified evaluator. (The cost of the evaluation is included in the price of the class.)
Prerequisites:
- Successful completion of Pet Obedience I.
- Dogs must be at least 6 months old and in good physical condition.
- Dogs may not be aggressive towards people or towards other dogs. A dog that is aggressive will have to be evaluated by the instructor to determine if it can be handled in a class situation.
Students should bring to class: soft food, regular fabric or leather leash (not flex lead), chew toy and play toy. Students should wear athletic shoes. Successful completion: The evaluator certifying the dog as a Canine Good Citizen.

Competitive Obedience
Instruction will be given in:
- Sit, down, recall, heel, stand for exam, off leash heeling
- Heeling, Figure 8, Stand for Exam, Heel off leash, Recall, Long Sit and Long Down
- Each exercise will be aimed toward competition in AKC Novice Obedience Class.

- Dogs must be at least 6 months old and in good physical condition.
- Dogs may not be aggressive towards people or towards other dogs. Dogs that are aggressive will have to be evaluated by the instructor to determine if it can be handled in a class situation.

Rally I - Beginner Rally Obedience Class
Instruction will be given in:
- Stationary attention
- Connection between dog/handler
- Stationary Novice Rally exercises
- Basic course analysis
Prerequisites:
- Dogs must be at least 6 months of age and in good physical condition.
- Dogs may not be aggressive towards people or towards other dogs.
- Dogs must reliably sit, down, come and walk on lead.
- Dogs must have successfully completed the Advanced Beginner Obedience course or have instructor / training director approval.
Successful completion: Dog must on command and with distraction: perform all stationary Novice Rally exercises properly, maintain focused stationary attention on handler for a minimum of 30 seconds, and handler must be able to successfully negotiate a short Rally course. Rally II - Advanced Rally Obedience Class
6 weeks. The advanced Rally-O student should have already successfully completed a Rally I Obedience class - other obedience classes and/or experience are not substitutes. This requirement can only be waived by the instructor.

Agility Classes:

Agility I - Beginners Agility
Instruction will be given in:
- jumping basics
- tunnels / chute
- obstacle basics
- weave pole basics
- targeting
- interacting and playing with dogs in a motivational manner
Prerequisites:
- Dogs may not be aggressive towards people or towards other dogs.
- Dogs must be at least 6 months old and in good physical condition.
- Handler and dog must on command and with distraction: sit, come, down, stay with a lead out.
- Dogs and Handlers will be evaluated the first class session to be sure they are in the appropriate class.
All students participate in set-up/take-down of agility equipment for each class. Students are encouraged to make or purchase jumps and weave poles for home practice. Successful completion: Dog must come to hand, and jump confidently at half height, and work tunnels and chutes. Dog must have a basic understanding of the weaves and work each contact obstacle at half-height (with a consistent contact). Next logical classes: Intermediate Agility II
Agility II - Intermediate Agility
Instructions will be given in:
- sequencing
- more difficult weave pole exercises
- more difficult obstacle exercises
- interacting and playing with dogs in a motivational manner
Prerequisites:
- Dogs may not be aggressive towards people or towards other dogs.
- Dogs must be at least 6 months old and in good physical condition.
- Handler and dog should have successfully completed the CDC Beginner Agility course or have instructor / training director approval.
- Dogs and Handlers will be evaluated the first class session to be sure they are in the appropriate class.
All students participate in set-up/take-down of agility equipment for each class. Successful completion: the dog can complete all obstacles and run sequences successfully including weaves. Next logical classes: Advanced Agility III
Agility III - Advanced Agility
Handlers will run their dogs through courses / exercises, while an instructor and other class members critique and assist the student in fine-tuning skills. This isn't a class to perfect any particular technique but to learn to put them all together and develop skill proficiency and confidence.
Prerequisites:
- Handler and dog must be getting ready to enter for their Novice title in at least one venue and successfully complete 12 weave poles without wires/channels or spread or have instructor/training director approval.
- Dogs must be in good physical condition.
- Dogs may not be aggressive towards people or towards other dogs.
All students participate in set-up/take-down of agility equipment for each class.

Hunting Classes
Basic Hunt Class
Basic Hunting Class pre-requisites: must be at least 5 months old, and have had some basic obedience. i.e. Walk on leash and understand sit.
The class will introduce the handler to training techniques that establish control and enhance the dog's performance in the field. It will introduce voice, whistle and hand signal commands. It will demonstrate and practice bench work for retrieving and developing a soft mouth. The dog will learn to quarter in front of the hunter, using the wind as necessary to seek out upland game.

Beginning Tracking Class
This is a 6-week Introduction to Tracking class for those who are interested in training towards the AKC Tracking Dog (T.D.) title. The class will be limited to 10 dog and handler teams in order to give each team adequate individual attention. Each class will run approximately one hour and thirty minutes. Class times may be adjusted to work with available light as the sunset advances in Fall. This is an excellent training opportunity for those who enjoy working with their dogs outdoors in all types of terrain and weather conditions.
Students will need basic tracking equipment including a tracking harness and line as well as plenty of treats. Tracking equipment and treats will be discussed the first night of class and can be purchased after the first night if you're unsure what you need - just bring what you have the first night.
